This is for Aidan! He is the sweetest boy, funny, and he always continues to amaze us! This journey has been rough for our family but also amazing. For Aidan he was pretty much on track up to his 1st birthday but by his 2nd he regressed to the point of being what they called non-verbal. So thats when speech therapy started and at 3 he started OT and PT. After he started preK I started asking his therapists and the special education teachers at his school if they thought he had autism.  They told me no he's really social and loves to play with us, its just a developmental and speech delay. (What they didn't think about was that he was that way with adults not his peers and over looked everything that was going on at home.) So I let it go, we live in a really small town not much 2nd opinions around here to get. But my gut feeling was that it had to be, so at the yearly checkup I asked his doctor; she said it could be a possibility and that you could get him tested if you want. So we got put on the wait list and got tested. What I'm trying to get at by telling you this part of our journey is that go with your gut, its more than likely going to be right. Don't let living in a small town get in your way to finding answers! Aidan is always excited to do things related to autism and showing awareness. By going to this we hope to meet new people, learn new things and have lots of fun!!
