Everlee is non verbal, but smarter than anyone could ever believe. She can run her AAC device better than me! I’ve learned love truly needs no words said.

She is smart. She is brave. She amazing. She is kind. She is loved. She is everything we could have ever asked for.

I used to be so overwhelmed and upset that my baby couldn’t talk and wasn’t like “other” kids her age. All my friend’s children were meeting their milestones, but yet I couldn’t help but think why did my child get the short end of stick. I can’t say I still don’t think that sometimes on occasions when I’m having a hard day.

It took me months to feel comfortable to talk about because for one I never want Everlee to be treated differently because of her diagnosis. But after a lot people being in my corner loving Everlee for who she is and navigating autism as no one I personally know having autism, and of course research after research.

I know God chose me to be her mom. God chose me to be her voice. God chose me because he knew I would go to the ends of the earth to advocate for her.

If you feel embarrassed, scared, hurt or just do not know how to navigate and know what to do. I AM here for you. I WANT to help more parents. I WANT them to know you are not alone even though it feels like you are. Please know your child is hand chosen for you. God knew you could handle it all. From the endless therapies, IEP meetings and doctor’s appointments.

You are not alone. I never knew how much autism was not accepted until it became my reality. Please teach your children that it is okay for other children to learn differently than they do.

1 out of 36 children are autistic.

I hear you and I see you.

Awareness. Advocate. Acceptance. đź’™
